How to link your Aadhaar and PAN
With Aadhaar becoming mandatory for IT returns, you would need to link your Aadhaar number to your PAN before filing this year's IT return.
A lot of us, including myself, don't know whether our PAN and Aadhaar is linked. Turns out, I had actually linked it sometime earlier, most probably last year.
If you haven't linked your PAN to your Aadhaar, or are wondering how to do it, this post is for you.
Linking is very easy with a newly introduced web page. You can visit the link below to get the linking done.

This is what the linking screen looks like! |
For the linking to happen, your date of birth and gender on both Aadhaar and PAN should match exactly. If they don't match you'll have to get the details corrected first.
If your name on both the documents don't match, you will receive a OTP on your registered mobile number to validate it. And you can then proceed with the linking.
You fill in your PAN, Aadhaar number and Name as on Aadhaar and you are done.
As easy as that!
You can also check your linking status on the e-filing portal.
Login to the Income Tax portal at the following link.
