Innovation and God

With an overdose of innovation a day back (thanks to a "easy" 6 pointer course on innovation management), I was pretty much "gas"ed. And then came the  uproar of the Ayodhya issue.

This led me to think a bit of about atheism and below are some of my observations.

1) With the huge number of religions and Gods around, one thing is pretty much sure. Given the fact that the world has been the creation by a single entity, a large population is wrong about their belief in their God, since not every version of God could have been part of the creation. Which means a large percentage of us humans (if not all of us) are wrong about our belief in our version of God.

2) As with any research, my first point of reference was Wikipedia.
The link I landed on was the wiki entry for "Atheism".
LINK :  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atheism

A point that struck me on this page was the one mentioned below
In Europe, the estimated percentage of atheists, agnostics and other nonbelievers in a personal god ranges as low as single digits in Poland, Romania, Cyprus, and some other countries, and up to 85% in Sweden (where 17% identify themselves as atheists), 80% in Denmark, 72% in Norway, and 60% in Finland.

3) Now given my involvement with the aforementioned subject, some of these names struck a bell. Next stop was the "European Innovation Scoreboard"

And what I find here is as follows : "DenmarkFinland, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland andthe UK are the Innovation leaders, with innovation performance well above that of the EU27 and all othercountries."

As you can see the "atheist nations" (if I may call them so) seem to be doing pretty well for themselves in the field of innovation and, as a corollary, in general national development.

Random image to drive home the point :)

Which brings me to the important question - Is God holding back my motherland?
If I look at the imbroglio at Ayodhya (mandir wahi banaayenge, anyone?), the answer seems to be a sad "YES".

Random fact 1: In India, 87% of people don't have access to a hygienic loo.
Random fact 2: In India, a religious establishment can be found on every street corner.
